Welcome to Lightning Ridge Stables and Kennels located in the beautiful Ozark Hills of Southern Missouri, bordered by the Mark Twain National Forest. We are small-operative Registered Missouri Fox Trotter and ASCA Australian Shepherd breeders, specializing for 25 years in producing and preserving the natural, exceptional qualities of these two breeds which has made them what they are today.

The Missouri Fox Trotter and the Australian Shepherd are well known for their excellence and dedication to serving their owner. They are both highly intelligent, extremely versatile in any situation or environment, and never fail to display loving dispositions and awesome colors!

At Lightning Ridge Stables and Kennels we are devoted to spending daily one-to-one time with our Fox Trotters and Aussies from the day they are born, continuing through breaking, training and selling.

We are only 50 miles from the Missouri Fox Trotters National Headquarters in Ava, Missouri and 10 minutes from the Mark Twain National Forest where you can ride for a week and never follow the same trail, seeing everything from deer, turkey, bald eagles, beautiful rivers, mountains, and occasionally even a bear! This provides excellent trail riding experiences for both the horses and Aussies, plus works as a positive tool in the training process.
